Shut Up & Drive is Caroline Hackmeyer's ever-morphing aggressive anti-pop (but it's just so damn catchy you've gotta call it "pop") project -- sometimes acoustic, sometimes electric, sometimes solo, sometimes a performing collaboration between her and a rotating line-up of talented St. Louis percussionists. With songs written from a literate, snarky, neo-feminist perspective with (anti)pop sensibility, Caroline has a proclivity for writing emotionally honest songs that serve as social commentaries on time-vampirism, emotional and material poverty, social constipation, boys, boys in bands, boys with stupid haircuts, boys with stupid-bad haircuts, pajamas, and people who are so self-important that their bios are not at all humorous.
Caroline is a Pisces, enjoys long walks off of short piers, and is always in search of a good pirate joke.
