NEWS: 08.28.05 i can't keep track! so a run-down of MHR events of the last month seems to be in order: event #1 - WILL ROCK FOR FOOD: THE ROCKENING without help from the following people, MHR would've had a hell of a time organizing & staging this year's Rockening, so major huge gigantic thanks go out to: jamie & bryan @ ninja science laboratories for mastering the compilation; daniel & jamie for running sound at the VFW; big terry & the rest of the richmond heights VFW for donating the space to us again this year; peggy & elizabeth for working the door; nic for taping everything; andy, val, brian potts, bryan basler, ian, meg, daniel, & carolyn for folding compilation inserts & making merch signs; matt kubiak for printing our presskits; scott & nathan @ house of eight legs for silkscreening limited edition posters; amanda & brian & julia @ the commonspace/free candy for their untiring promotion & support of us & our shows; trisha @ hi/tec copy center; val & jen for photos; all the bands who played; all the bands who donated tracks; the moms; & YOU, for coming out & donating cans & buying stuff! event #2 - MAJOR DEAL UNO event #3 - MAJOR DEAL DOS (b/c apparently i'm spanish now?) non-events #1-5 * a potential autumn release from Stendek; his third MHR album is being recorded in his basement, probably as i type these words. he recently uploaded a demo version of one of his new songs, "If I Was On Fire," to on his myspace account. oh, & by the way, both "Universally Round" & "On The Fly" will be going out of print as of NOW, pretty much, so once they're sold out at Vintage Vinyl & Euclid Records, you'll be SOL. * also going out of print: Tin Tree Factory's "Rough Cuts." on the plus side, johnny was in town last weekend & dropped a disc of new material in my mailbox (called "Tentatively Titled") & it's some killer stuff, so the kid's still making music out in seattle. * i like sandwiches with avocado. * Fance is on an indefinite hiatus due to college & distance. there may be a winter break show or two looming in the distance, though i can't say for sure. * all of our newest releases -- including Commichung's "Stock Market/Bad Sleep" & this year's Will Rock For Food compilation -- have been consigned at Vintage Vinyl, & on top of that, we have a bank account & are now OFFICIAL VV VENDORS, so, you know, would it kill you to go check our stuff out? chung, i believe, was on an endcap a few weeks back; VV staff + MHR = ♥♥ 4eva. FINALLY ... i'm not really sure how to tell you this, but Adam's Off Ox is pretty much in a transitional state right now. between work schedules & changing musical directions & an impending move to portland, well, we're not sure exactly where they'll all end up but it's safe to say that, as of october 1, the AOO will be no more. some of them may continue working together in various projects, but at this point i really don't have very much information so what i know is what you know. we love the AOO & are deeply saddened by this turn of events, & we wish them all nothing but the best. if there's to be a final show, you can be sure i'll let you know.

NEWS: 05.22.05 i swear i have a good excuse see, the thing is that my computer broke. that's my excuse. ok, it's been so long that i don't even know what to tell you right now. the big news is that we've had (& lost!) a date for this year's Will Rock For Food due to scheduling conflicts, so we'll be putting that off till mid-august. as god is my witness, the absolute second we get the date confirmed, i will be on ye olde internette spreading the word -- & that's the best i can do, & really, isn't that enough? i should also tell you that fance has a one-week tour booked for the first part of june, & commichung is working on booking their summer tour as well. they will both be supporting new albums -- fance released "falbum" last month with record-breaking sales, & we'll be putting out the chung's "stock market/bad sleep" record on july 08 at lemp. oh yeah, also, i have, like, a few months' worth of photos to put up which will probably get taken care of sometime in the next couple weeks or so. i mean, now that i have access to a reliable computer right in my very own home, i really don't have much reason to procrastinate further, do i?
